Talk: Nick will be talking as part of the @nlalondon Breakfast Talk ‘Reimagining Central Somers Town’ tomorrow morning at 8.30am. In this talk, LB Camden, @dsdha_architecture and the four collaborating practices; @adamkhanarch @hayhurstandco @drmmarchitects and @moco_arch will present and discuss their dynamic approach to masterplanning/designing a new urban framework, using landscape and public realm as the primary drivers. The site comprises a new primary school, community facilities, a residential tower, affordable homes and commercial ground floor units all focused around a new public park providing improved connectivity. Housing Portfolio: Forming part of Camden Council’s regeneration scheme of Central Somers Town, we designed three, four-storey, town-houses that ended a Grade-II listed Georgian terrace. Our design included a rigorous analysis of the elevational features and proportions of the adjacent existing terrace in order to inform how a new end of terrace could be interpreted. Housing Portfolio: As we embark on a number of new housing projects for Brick by Brick we are showcasing some of our recent multi-unit residential schemes. From the archive: Must be a nice day to be in the Reception stage play area at Hayes Primary School in Croydon today. Completed in 2012, the project includes a blackboard wall, a sitting niche, sandpit and shallow paddling pool in a space that runs directly from the internal teaching spaces.
