Edith Neville Primary School

On site this year: A model of our new school building for Edith Neville Primary School. Forming part of Camden’s ‘Community Investment Programme’, the project comprises a new school and Children’s Centre in a new masterplan for Central Somerstown. We worked closely with masterplanners (DSDHA), Duggan Morris, dRMM and Adam Khan Architects who were working on other buildings in the masterplan.

Barn-ish, Brighton-ish

Barn-ish, Brighton-ish is an internal refurbishment of a Grade-II listed Coach House in Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex. Constructed within the confines of the existing buildings shell, the design provides new single and double-height spaces in this long, thin plan building. The new spaces are opened up and sculpted around the existing structure to enable the new elements to be clearly read against the historic fabric. Photo: @kilianosullivan

Whole House on Grand Design’s House of the Year special on Channel 4

‘For a small modern house, this building actually contains a lot of big historical references. From the architecture of Roman villas, medieval cloisters, even the Georgian townhouse. But then, you see, Wilson Mizner – the American playwright – wrote ‘to pinch one idea is plagiarism, to pinch two is research’ and actually in the case of this house, to pinch dozens and whisk them into one beautiful, coherent whole – is genius.’ Kevin McCloud talking about Whole House on @RIBA House of the Year last night on @channel4 – available on All4 now! Congratulations to the winner – Caring Wood! @rural_office @jamesmacdonaldwright

Blueprint Awards 2017

Whole House has been shortlisted in the residential project category at the Blueprint awards 2017. Whole House is a house full of contradictions: a house with large ideas on a small garage site. A house with no windows that is flooded with light. A unique house for a speculative developer client.

Clore Studio at the RIBA

Today we were announced as winner for the new Clore Learning Centre at the RIBA. Our vibrant and playful scheme generates a space that is flexible, thought-provoking and unique.
